NanoCapture

Wer wir sind?

The NanoCapture team is developing selective delivery of nanomedicines to treat cancers. We are based at the Department of Pharmacy, LMU Munich, embedded within the Dr. Thorn-Seshold research group. Recently, the NanoCapture team won the prestigious GO-Bio grant from the German Federal Government - BMBF, to perform preclinical studies and move our innovative project towards a spin-off.

To strengthen our interdisciplinary team, we are looking for a Translational Research Scientist. The ideal candidate should have strong background in assessing cancer drug pharmacokinetics and toxicology in relevant in vivo tumor models. She/he will be responsible for establishing and performing preclinical studies to characterize in detail the mode of action and efficacy of the NanoCapture technology. A strong entrepreneurial drive is highly appreciated. The position is available from January 2019 initially for 3 years (salary according to the TV-L) with possible extension.

Main responsibilities:

  • Establishment and conduction of in vivo tumor studies in various animal models
  • Development and performance of in vivo ADME studies
  • Data interpretation and manuscript preparation (patent and publications)
  • Presentation and reporting the research outcome internally and externally
  • Planning further NanoCapture scientific development

Skills and Requirements:

  • PhD (or M.Sc. with equivalent research experience) in an appropriate field (biology, biochemistry, pharmacy etc.)
  • Practical experience in establishment and working with in vivo tumor models (i.e. drug PK/PD and toxicology studies)
  • Experience with drug biodistribution assays and follow-on tissue analysis (HPLC, LC-MS etc.)
  • Self-starter attitude, inventive problem solver comfortable to work independently and in a team
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills

Would you like to be a part of an interdisciplinary group working on novel cancer therapy? You want to make real impact and have a significant role in a small and dynamic team? Gain experience in a project working towards a spin-off founding?
