CeNS member Thorben Cordes takes up position at the Department of Biology I
On July 1, Prof. Thorben Cordes takes up his new position as a professor for Physical and Synthetic Biology at LMU's Department of Biology I. Having spent seven years abroad as a postdoc in Oxford and later as an Associate Professor for “Molecular Microscopy” University of Groningen, Thorben is now back at LMU where he previously spent two years as a postdoc at the Faculty of Physics in the group of Philip Tinnefeld. New collaborations within CeNS are already on their way, e.g. with Prof. Jan Lipfert (Molecular Biophysics, LMU) on conformational states of proteins. In addition, Thorben is also member of the 
DFG-GRK2062 “Molecular Principles of Synthetic Biology”.
Thorben will give his Inaugural lecture during the “Tag der offenen Tür” at the Department of Biology on July 13.
