Ulrich Schubert has been granted a NWO VICI award

Professor Ulrich Schubert has been granted a NWO VICI award The Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) has awarded 3 excellent chemists a VICI subsidy. Each researcher will receive EUR 1,250,000. Professor Schubert received the award for his work, '(Macro)molecular engineering on the nanoscale'. He has described this work as 'selectively arranging different molecules and particles in an ordered fashion to create functional nanomaterials and machines, as demonstrated by nature. Mimicking nature, we will use self-organizing molecules in combination with microscope-based lithography to prepare synthetic nanodevices with specific functions.
