Niels Fertig receives a German award for Nanosciences

Niels Fertig, CEO of Nanion Technologies GmbH (Munich), has won the 2005 NanoScience prize of the HanseNanoTec (Hamburg Competence Center for Nanotechnology) for his work on a chip-based measuring system for ion channels. Niels Fertig developed a biochip that enables patch clamp readings in an automated and parallel format. The 5000 prize will be awarded at a workshop on October 20 in Hamburg. Nanion Technologies is a spin-off from the Center of Nanoscience (CeNS) of the University of Munich (LMU).
