NanoTemper and Advalytix receive funding for joint project

A joint-venture of the NanoTemper Technologies GmbH and the Bio Business Division of Olympus Life Science Research Europa GmbH (OLRE) received a 3 year funding of 540.000 EUR from the BMBF-program KMU-innovativ: Biotechnologie BioChance. With this grant the BMBF supports the development of a new measurement method for RNA/DNA-diagnostics. The method is based on the thermo-optical technology platform of NanoTemper® and the Ampligrid platform of OLRE. The scope of this project is to develop a high throughput PCR method in an 1µl format with the power to detect single molecules and to resolve point mutations and short tandem repeats within a single droplet. With this method no further analysis with gel electrophoresis or the like is needed.

The CeNS spin-off NanoTemper was founded in 2008 by CeNS Associates Dr. Stefan Duhr and Philipp Baaske. Based on the research work of the group of Prof. Dieter Braun, NanoTemper develops versatile solutions for biomoleculare interaction studies and pharmaceutical drug screening.

The Bio Business Division of OLRE represented by Dr. Zeno v. Guttenberg emerged from the former CeNS spin-off Advalytix AG, that was founded in 2000. The main fields of activity are techniques for molecular diagnostics on the single cell level and microfluidic surface acoustic wave applications. (Quelle: NanoTemper Technologies)
