Prof. Wolfgang Schmahl joins CeNS as Ordinary Member
Wolfgang W. Schmahl studied crystallography and materials science. He spent an extended post-doc period at the University of Cambridge, and Technical University of Darmstadt. After lectureships at Tübingen University and Ruhr-University Bochum he became chair of Geomaterials Science at LMU in 2004. Main areas of research are structures of materials from the molecular scale to the microscale and surface reactivity of solids. In his group electron diffraction, x-ray and neutron diffraction, AFM, and polarization microscopy are the main techniques.
