Complex functional plasmonics in hybrid systems

Prof. Harald Giessen
Universität Stuttgart

Complex plasmonics has seen a tremendous growth of functionalities in a number of different application areas. I am going to demonstrate nonreciprocal and reciprocal functionality in hybrid systems which include magneto-optical as well as chiral building blocks. When combined with phase change materials, active chirality switching is also possible. Using fundamental principles from coupling physics and from molecular science, one can easily visualize the effects that are responsible for the optical spectra.
