Image-processing of electron micrographs using SPIDER

This workshop will entail an introduction to the SPIDER software package for image-processing of electron micrographs. The morning session will consist of an introduction to the SPIDER environment and the basics of using existing SPIDER procedures and writing new ones. The afternoon session will consist of topics such as 2D classification, de novo 3D reconstruction using random conical tilt, reference-based reconstruction, and interoperability with other software packages. In addition, there will be a demonstration of integration of SPIDER workflows into the Scipion software package.
Participants can bring their own laptops with SPIDER and WEB already installed (Linux required). In case of installation problems of the software, there will be support starting from 9:00 am. Alternatively, participants can use the pre-configured desktop workstations at the workshop site.
